I think Dubon is closer to being DFA'd than being our breakout hitter. Hope you are right but he might be my least favorite Giant right now. If we are healthy, he shouldn't see the field.

I would be shocked if Beede became anything more than an average middle reliever. Even then I doubt he's still a Giant by the time he settles into that role.

I haven't been able to take him seriously since he un-ironically stated that he is a rapper as a side hobby.

I feel like garce is saying 99 said Ohtani wouldn't be able to hit in the majors, and I don't think that's what I remember. What I remember was 99 questioning if a player could be successful as a pitcher and a hitter in pro-baseball. Like he should concentrate on one or the other. And if he could hold up over a full season doing so.

I could be wrong but that's what I remember. And if so, that is completely different than saying he cannot hit.

99 was pointing to Ohtani's slow start in ST during his rookie year as the reason why he wouldn't be able to hit in majors. Point blank period.
