I used to love watching Baseball Tonight when I was a kid. Web gems were my favorite part

ESPN back then was great. Baseball tonight, NHL on ESPN, Chris Berman in his prime. And the funny commercials.

Those were good times.

Yup. And I'd have to watch sports center or baseball tonight until the laaaast highlight to see the giants highlights. Every time

That's why me, along with many others in my generation, know so much more about sports back then compared to now. I don't have to see the Royals/Blue Jays highlights to see my giants. I just open Instagram or the espn app and boom. It's sad kinda

I miss my big time timmy jim commercials.

it's incredible to watch his growth from a 4th round pick, to #5 guy breaking into the rotation to stud now. #HomeGrown
Just in case anyone was wondering.

Our bullpen has been known to blow big leads, so I say try to score until the game is over, regardless of the size of the lead. Let the Padres cry about it.

this. What is the difference between winning 9-1 and scoring the majority of the runs early and winning 9-1 and tacking on runs late. Its still 9-1.

Plus the more we can tax their pen that night the better off our chances will be the following games against them.

If you don't like it, don't put the opposing team in that position. Don't expect the Giants to take their foot off the gas just because Yu Darvish sucked.

Its a great story, I just wish her being hired in the first place wasn't such a PR move by the team. That kind of makes the whole thing feel disingenuous.

Kapler is still trying to do whatever he can to distance himself from the problems he faced when he was with the Dodgers minor league development team.

It wasn't just Kapler. The Giants organization had the Larry Baer incident in early 2019, then in late 2019 they hired Kapler and were ripped apart again for hiring Farhan and Kapler for the Dodgers farm system assaults. Right after that Kapler press conference they hired Nakken, which was a pretty obvious way to change the narrative.
nvm

Yea true, I actually forgot about the Larry Baer incident. I'm all for diversity in sports but it just feels like this move was always a PR stunt.

Kapler, in general, seems very dead set on promoting an image of himself that shows he's all about inclusion, diversity, mental health awareness, etc. Nothing wrong with that at all and I applaud him for it. It just feels a tiny bit fabricated.
