Seriously hope I'm wrong and Joey gets it going but I think there are too many holes in that swing

He's not a kid, he's 25.....last at bat, wiffs on 3 hangers, then Slater hits next pitch oppo on a cold night.

f**k the A's and their trash ownership

The model works for them. The team is forced to rebuild every 3-4 seasons because they cannot afford the high-priced stars that these young players become.

The A's will be back. It always takes time for a young team to jell.

In the meantime, the A's will continue to provide fans with an affordable experience.

Garce is right. I forgot they wore them in all 3 games against Washington when they debuted last season.

I thought he was last year which is why I was OK if they traded him. I think he's done a pretty good job of calling a game when he plays. Much better than I thought he would. He doesn't block balls very well. Early on he threw a runner out and I thought made some improvements, but inconsistencies popped up the other day and he sailed one. Bad form.

At the plate he doesn't seem to adjust and doesn't seem to hit breaking balls well. I think your assessment of his potential is correct.

Overall, if the giants aren't better than they are last year its because of the lack of production at two spots - our two catchers and our DH/extra OFer spots. With the pitching staff, I think they are poised to compete better in the playoffs than last year. But I'm worried we have some almost automatic outs/inning killers in those two spots in the lineup.

This team is deep depth-wise. Just wait till we are healthy.

Must be 9-1
How has Patrick Bailey looked behind the plate? His offensive numbers are not good.
I am still not use to Gabe using pitching 'openers' lol. So weird.

The Giants claimed left-handed pitcher Darien Núñez off waivers, the club announced. The 29-year-old from Cuba had been in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization since 2018.

Núñez learned the news on Tuesday after undergoing Tommy John surgery, according to reporter Francys Romero.

At the Triple-A level in 2021, Núñez recorded a 2.42 ERA in 31 games. That's the kind of upper-level success San Francisco covets.

Since Núñez just had surgery on his elbow, the Giants will be paying him to rehab this year. Afterward, they can re-assess based on how he performs post-surgery.

Núñez is the second minor transaction San Francisco has made in as many days; SF acquired infield prospect Kevin Padlo for cash earlier this week. Since waiver priority goes in reverse order of standings, the Giants traded for Padlo instead of risking another team claiming him.
