Not sure if I could bump him based off this year. They would of beat LA without Davis, Denver without Murray, LA without Leonard, possibly even Milwaukee without Giannis. The run of injuries is something that's tainted this year's playoffs.

But he's still arguably top 5 without a ring. Probably right there with Stockton.

Wouldn't shock me if CP3 already has a ring if not for going down in previous playoffs. Injuries are a part of the biz.

Yeah I call bs on this one. Which year would CP3 have won a ring without injuries?

The Rockets would have probably beat the Warriors when CP3 pulled his hamstring in the closing seconds of the game 5 win in 2018. I believe they were up 3-2. Whether they beat the LBJ led Cavs is not clear but I think they would've been the favorites.

Yeah thats the most glaring example. NBA best record, 3-2 lead, point god goes down and Warriors win a ship.

THE point god went down .

we are not worthy

Suns are gonna smoke either of these teams.

Well yea - Hawks are without Young and Bucks are without Giannis.

Well Chris Paul is gonna die and miss three games and then come back for game 4!

Btw…where do you rank CP3 all time on PG list if he wins the title? We are adding to the legacies of players for losing in 2nd round at home - CP3 probably gets into the top 5 all time PG list?

I think you have to take in the totality of his entire career. it's kind of hard to rank somebody before their legacy is done. who knows what happens after this season? Does he collapse in the Finals and the Bucks or Hawks win? Does he re-sign with the Suns? do they make it to the finals again? Do the Lakers, led by LeBron rebound and win it all next season? Too many questions to rank a guy at this point.

Hence the - if he wins the title. I think he makes it. List of 10k assists to along with a winning a chip as arguably the best player on the team is extremely short. Only Magic Johnson has that distinction so far.

My top 5 if Suns win it all:
1. Magic
2. Curry
3. Big O
4. IT
5. CP3

On top of that - if he retires at the no 2 spot on the all time assist list (he's gonna be at no 3 early Next season) - I think he can jump all the way to 3.

lolol

Walt Frazier is definitely above CP3 in a top PG list.

You could make the argument that Frazier is above CP3, but I don't think it's laughable to put CP3 above Frazier. Both were/are the best defensive PGs of their era, but Paul has proven to be one of the best floor generals ever, and his clutch shooting these last few years took a Thunder team that had no business winning last year into the playoffs with a 44-28 record (22-50 without him this year) and has guided the Suns to the NBA Finals this year. Dude is 36 and might be playing the best ball of his career.

Its a terrible example.....and its a terrible example because you are essentially saying "If the Rockets would have stayed healthy all series, combined with the Warriors not being afforded the same 'if,' then the Rockets would have won the series."

Terrible example. Warriors win in 5 games with no Andre Iguodala injury.

Lol

I know!!! Laughable indeed. Amazes me how many people run with the "If Chris Paul never got hurt but the Warriors still had their injuries, the Rockets would have won" garbage take.

Sure Iggy was a good piece on that team, but if you're gonna blame a playoff series loss on losing your 5th best player, there are other things going on than that. Rockets losing their 2nd best player had a much bigger effect.

The Rockets lost their 2nd best player in what would have been the closing minutes of the entire series with no Andre Injury. Warriors lost their "5th best player" at the end of game 3.

Warriors lost games 4 and 5 by a combined 7 points. But you are right, CP was a better player than Andre. But his injury would have been irrelevant if Andre didnt get hurt.

And there is no "loss" to blame, as we didnt lose that series.

Debating what if scenarios are silly. Injuries are, as much as anything, a part of sports. Anthony Davis is an amazing talent, but he's also injury prone. Does that mean other teams are less deserving to win it all because a guy on another team can't stay healthy? lol, no.
