Why? You think Ehlo was that bad?

Pretty much same level of player. Except - Delly is unplayable in today's league and Ehlo was playing 33mpg and guarding best guards on opposing teams.

LeBron would never survive being defended by Ehlo.

Same thought that popped into my head. Barrea was instrumental in beating the Miami super team for the ring.

difference between MJ and early Kobe's NBA versus current softer version being exposed. Offensive stats are probably artificially inflated AF

Yeah that was a solid 'NBA' play right there. Drive, initiate body contact and then flop. Guaranteed going to the line these days in the NBA.

Lol not even close and Mavs played Zone defense against Lebron - something that was illegal in the 90s.

Jordan to the committee who wanted to legalize zone defense:

"Jordan was making an impassioned plea before the competition committee that had gathered to consider rules changes to enliven the NBA game. Jordan spoke passionately. If teams were able to play zone defenses, he said, he never would have had the career he did."

Jordan's argument: He believed that allowing any defense, or a zone, enables teams to gang up on the star. Gone will be the highlight-show moves and plays, the ESPN-ization of the game that others contend has been detrimental to sound play."

Eh that era was full of garbage players playing 30+ a game plus zone defense was illegal.

Do agree that today's game really helps the finesse players. Would love to see NBA go away from it and let defenders be little more physical. Would absolutely love that!!!

We disagree on the era of players (MJ, Shaq, early Kobe, Admiral, The Dream) being garbage. That sounds like an opinion rooted in emotion.

but hell yes the NBA needs to let defenders be more physical. Makes for better NBA.
I love how Jordan gets criticized for playing against a bunch of white, garbage, mailmen.....yet Bron's competition just lost to a bunch of white, garbage, mailmen last night.

Make it make sense!

I didn't say those players were garbage. I said 90s rosters had a lot of garbage players - which is what will happen today if they added 6 new teams in 6 years. 21% of the players who weren't in the league were all of a sudden in the league and talent pool hadn't caught up to the new job openings.

Solid comparison

Oh and go look at the Toronto Raptors 95-96 roster and tell me that's a NBA talent level roster.
72-10 Bulls team lost to that expansion team.

Make it make sense.

It's 40 mins of basketball. If you don't play as a team or give in some type of effort - you could lose to an inferior team. Not to mention - there are no leaders on that roster except Draymond.

Lastly - quote from late Great Kobe Bryant in Sept. 2019:
Bryant said that Team USA is no longer assured of winning when it takes the court, per ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

"It's not a matter of the rest of the world catching up to the U.S., it's that the rest of the world has been caught up for quite some time," Bryant said. "And it's to the point now where us in the U.S. are going to win some, we're going lose some. And that's just how it goes."

4ml - where do you rank Jordan among the all time greats? Or do you not even consider him an all time great?

Honestly - I think Jordan, Kareem, and Lebron are clear top 3. Take any order you want - comes down to preference.
Had Magic played those 3-4 years when he was 32-35 - he probably makes that top 4 - any order you want.

I think that's reasonable… I didn't see Kareem play, but I always struggle with where to place Shaq. Prime Shaq was such a freak. Hakeem also. I think The Dream or the Diesel would be better than Kareem, but that's a biased take probably

I also think Kobe is somewhere among the top five…
