Plenty of sports franchise have spent big bucks with nothing to show for it, the Cowboys and Knicks come to mind.

They've paid their homegrown guys. It's not like they rebuilt the team through FA lol

exactly, and no one wanted wiggins. it was such a horrible take
Lacob is just willing to pay the price and other owners aren't. He is not close to the richest owner in the NBA, he just wants to win more than any other (except Cuban maybe).

the biggest NON-Trade they made was Klay Thompson for Kevin Love

This.

I'm surprised seeing a lot of Lakers fans rooting for the Celtics. I could never see myself rooting for the Cowboys or Raiders, no matter he circumstances.

Not sure that's true. I'm on Lakers reddit a lot, and majority are rooting for GS. The rest of us wish that nobody wins this series lol. But it was comical seeing how whiny GS fans got when they were down 2-1, after so many of them thought this will be a cakewalk. Definitely the biggest cry baby fan base, so I can understand why so many other fans don't like them.

In my experience the biggest cry babies are those that root for the Niners, Angels, and Lakers.

You know that is not true. Steve Ballmer is worth 100 billion and owns a team in LA. Dan Gilbert is worth over 20 billion, but it sucks to be in Cleveland. Lacob has one of the lower net worths of all owners. I know he prints money at Chase Center, and has benefitted for years of deep playoff runs. But you have to spend it to make it.

i meant assets, as in players worth paying/keeping like a wiggins type player for future years

Warriors were kinda lucky to have a great core team intact already and were just waiting on Klay. Holding on to wiggins was gamble but with better odds if you did hold on to him

Not familiar with Lakers reddit. it's from comments I've seen on Twitter. But they could be LeBron fans more so than Laker fans, based on a majority having LeBron avis. Just hard to believe that there are true Lakers fans rooting for Celtics.

Right. I mean there is truth to it to an extent, but it's the low hanging fruit of truths to latch onto that doesn't tell the whole story so is not entirely truthful.

It omits that the Warriors have incredible chemistry. The Warriors' chemistry and culture is leading to wins, not their payroll.

Sports history is replete with organizations who went on spending sprees for outside talent and the team on the (field, court, pitch, rink, etc.) had no chemistry and flamed out.

Laker fans dont have LeBron avis. Those are stan accounts that have no real connection to the Lakers franchise. Thats why you see so many of them on twitter openly rooting for the Celtics.
