Ya not sure about this pick either. We'll see

Here's another excerpt from our episode with Rafael Barlowe, NBA Big Board's Director of Scouting. He shares an interesting story about 6'7 wing, Maxwell Lewis.

Colin Castleton is considered a sleeper by some draft analysts. A big who can also handle the ball some. He's also one of AR's agent's clients. Same thing as AR here: teams wanted to draft him in the 2nd but the agent said no bc they wanted to go to the Lakers. pic.twitter.com/zBk8ucBrde

Lakers may have landed another UDFA who has some good potential.
The Lakers will waive Mo Bamba and not pick up the team option on Malik Beasley today, sources told ESPN. LAL plans to stay in contact with both players' representatives throughout free agency and could find different deal structures for Bamba and/or Beasley's return to LA

Offseason plan:
Give me
Bruce Brown @ 12M
Austin Reaves @ 12M
Rui @ 14M
DLo @ 18M
Rui and DLo could get more from other teams so we will see but if Lakers can get them at 14 & 18 they'll also be comfortably able to use Bi-Annual exception at 5M to throw at another player - hopefully a backup center or wing.
Using bi-annual or mid level exception (Bruce Brown) will hard cap you @ 172M. With above numbers they stay couple mil under that.
Free agent guard Gabe Vincent has agreed on a three-year, $33 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Vincent's agent, Bill Neff, negotiated the new deal for a tremendous undrafted success story.

Gabe Vincent shot 44.6% on catch and shoot threes in the Playoffs.

RFA Rui Hachimura has agreed to a three-year, $51 million deal to return to the Lakers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Free agent Cam Reddish has agreed to a two-year deal with the Lakers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

The Lakers' projected depth chart if they retain Austin Reaves and D'Angelo Russell:
— Jovan Buha (@jovanbuha) July 1, 2023
DLo/Vincent/JHS
Reaves/Christie/Lewis
LeBron/Prince/Reddish
Rui/Vando
AD
They clearly need a backup center with one of their final two veteran's minimum contracts. Starters are fluid.

What a great pickup. Really thought he'd get more than 11m a year.
