Never understood why ppl think talent has to match in a trade. Who did Suns trade to get Beal? You really don't have to match talent in a trade - you've to target a disgruntled player on a bad contract or a player in the last year of the contract looking for a big pay and his team is not willing to pay that.

Having said that - I don't think Lakers need to trade for that player. They're missing Rui, Vando, Cam, & Vincent who are all young guys with no injury history. All 4 are expected to be back over the next 2 weeks. Together those guys will amount to at least 75 minutes per game - which is almost like missing 1/3rd of your team.
They need to make some change if they want to be a serious title contender. Even at full strength they arent in the same class as Phoenix, Denver, Milwaukee, Philly, or Boston.

I agree. I just don't think they need to go after an all star caliber player.

A first ballot HOF point guard?

…also iirc - Suns were planning to release him b4 his contract was fully guaranteed.

Dang we got slapped around. That was tough to watch.

We gonna have to bring in another all star type player at the deadline for this team to have a chance this year. AD is just too inconsistent and Bron at this age can't carry the team.
Just curious. Who are you going to trade to get an all star type player? Other than Lebron, Davis, and Reaves who is going to excite another team enough to give up that kind of guy.

Trades in the NBA are a joke, most teams never get fair value for their players. First round picks, expiring contracts are good enough now.

I mean look at the Lillard trade as a recent example. Ayton and Jrue were the big names in that trade. It's not like they got some young guys with great potential. Ayton is a bum and Jrue is up there in age.

A first ballot HOF point guard?

Suns traded a washed up version of him. Wizards didn't want the first ballot HOF point guard. They preferred Poole on one of the worst contracts in the NBA.

No one has ever accused the Wizards of being a smart, successful franchise.

Never said you must trade with a smart successful franchise

Wouldn't mind getting Kuzma back. My ideal target would be Dorian Finney-Smith or Nic Claxton.
Should have rested Lebron today. No chance they were gonna beat OKC on the road after playing at Detroit the night before. 2-2 road trip - I'll take it with all the injuries.

Should be getting Vando and Rui back over the weekend or early next week. We will know more about this team in December.
That was FUN!!!
