2021-2022 17 TIME WORLD CHAMPION Los Angeles Lakers Thread

Yea...Lakers look flat. Can't make any 3s - everything is short.

Honestly - fukin' tired of Ham playing Prince and Cam so many minutes. Max Christie can't get a minute. Just annoying. Dlo is having his Dlo game too.

unfortunately - we have a coach who thought it was a good idea to play 4 guards and a rookie C on a 2 way contract lol

Since Feb. 1st 2024 - Lebron is 62% from corner 3s & 46% overall from behind the arc.

Gabe Vincent looked good on defense last night. Hopefully, Vando back on 7th April and defense can go from sucky to average with addition of Gabe & Vando.

Ya I read on reddit that Vincent looked solid on defense (one of the reasons we signed him). Vando is going to be a good edition once he comes back as well.

Honestly, I think this team could've made some noise in the playoffs the way were are built, but I have no faith all in Ham at all.

Ham is awful this season. I thought he was really good in rd. 1 and rd 2 of playoffs last year. He made some really good adjustments and played mostly the right lineups. He was really bad against Nuggets and he continued that this entire season. I don't know how you regress this much as a coach in season 2.

Article from last week: https://theathletic.com/5354257/2024/03/22/lakers-starting-lineup-rui-hachimura/

The Core 4 + Prince lineup had been outscored by 10 points in their 228 minutes through Jan. 31, a subpar mark for a starting unit. Overall, Prince has a team-worst mark of minus-134 despite playing almost half of his minutes next to both James and Davis. The team has performed worse with Prince playing next to the team's two stars (-73 in 785 minutes) than with Hachimura (plus-13 in 140 minutes) or Vanderbilt (plus-19 in 154 minutes).

Starting Rui Hachimura in place of Prince and reforming the group that so often closed games in last season's playoffs. To that point, Hachimura had only logged 140 minutes next to Davis and James this season, compared to Prince's 785.

"We're just very big," James said on Feb. 5 of the new starting lineup. "We have a lot of length, a lot of athleticism. Rui works well with us."

------------------------------

Despite this obvious data - he continues to play 3 or 4 guard lineups whenever he gets a chance. It's so absurd - and they get abused every single time.

Like - wtf are you even thinking? Also - I don't understand how you don't play at least one of AD or Lebron to end every quarter. It's such a momentum shift if you end the quarters the right way. Oh and he also doesn't understand defensive and offensive substitutions either at the end of the game.

Don't even get me started on the timeouts lol - Lakers have lost timeouts bc this fool doesn't understand that you can only have 2 timeouts in the 4th quarter with less than 3 minutes left.

Ya he wants to match up with the other team too much, playing small isn't our strength. Gotta take advantage of our size.

Prince is such an average player. I see that he does a lot of the little things, is vocal on the court at times, but he's just not that good overall, even his defense isn't something to brag about.

I agree with Rui too playing with more with AD/Bron as well.

lol ham is such a pos
Decent 1st half, gotta play some better defense in the 2nd half now.

Good defense in the 2nd half. Game over

lol every time Christie plays - he's good and Ham refuses to play him. Makes no sense. He played today bc Gabe and Cam were out. Could have really prepared Christie for the postseason this entire regular season (like they did with Austin last year).

Rotations were much better in this game. Gonna be tough to make the playoffs with the 9th/10th seed. Ham's decisions in Oct - Jan 31st already botched this season.
