2021-2022 17 TIME WORLD CHAMPION Los Angeles Lakers Thread

Fully expecting this to be the last game of the season. Nuggets are def. going to pack the paint tonight after Lakers physically hammered them in the paint in game 4. Need Rui, Prince, Dlo to hit some 3s if Lakers hope to keep the game close. They're gonna get a bunch of open looks. Need Bron and AD to keep attacking but no way Nuggets let Lakers score 75pts in the paint again. AD has to dominate glass again and if Vando does play - that can help on the boards too.

Nuggets are too good but Lakers missed their opportunity in game 1 and 2 and that's why tonight the season is gonna be over. Can't do that against elite teams.
What an annoying end to that half. Ugh. Should have been 8-10 pt lead instead of 3. Lakers gonna lose Q3 and that'll be the game.

They just don't play bad for stretches. It's hard to beat a team like that, they are so damn well rounded.

Yup. Their starting 5 is loaded and all in their prime.

Jokic is best player in the game
Murray is a star
KCP is a pretty good 3D guy
MPJ would have been a top 5 pick if not for injury
Aaron Gordon was a top 5 pick

They all can shoot except Gordon (who can also make wide open shots) and is a perfect fit in the dunker spot.

Their bench sucks though. I think Wolves can give them a good series.
Lakers missing too many FTs

AR and Dinwiddie missed 4fts - 85% shooters.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if Minnesota wins the series. Denver better play a lot better in the next series if they expect to win
About the only time you saw the #2 seed defending champs win a 4-1 series and say the other team let it slip away. Lakers were up all 5 games at half.

lol ham lol

We match up decently with them. Even though they've won 100000 games in a row against us, it's rarely a beat down.

Gobert vs Joker will be a nice matchup.

They don't have anyone that really matches well with Edwards. If he goes off every game, they have a chance.

I genuinely believe that if Lakers had a good coach - this is a diff series. Lakers aren't too far away from truly contending - and they can contend next year - provided they hire a good coach - Lebron still making Father Time sweat - they upgrade D'Lo and get a Center behind AD.

AD
Lebron
Vando
AR
A good pg (who can do 2 of 3 things - shoot defend playmaker)

Rui
Gabe Vincent
Max Christie
True backup center

If Lakers do really want to reset - they'll let Lebron know and he'd opt out. I'd really like him to retire with Lakers but he has 2 years left imo and he should do his best to play for a team that can contend.

lol they did - they need a real coach
LOLZ

lol an actual quote from a head-coach

Ya that's one thing I won't blame Ham for is DLo

Reason why Lakers ended up in play-in was bc Ham benched Dlo and Austin. I would have understood that move if they were benched and minutes were distributed among Gabe, Rui, Vando. No their minutes went to Cam Reddish and Prince and Lakers went like 3-11 during that stretch.

Lakers management decided to not trade Dlo at the deadline. They should have moved him but Ham's lineup in the month of December and January is the reason why he should be fired bc Lakers could have been a 4th or 5th seed with better continuity instead of 8th seed at the end of regular season.
