2021-2022 17 TIME WORLD CHAMPION Los Angeles Lakers Thread

I'd rather have JJ as HC in that case. Borrego as assistant HC will be better.

I've thought for a while that Borrego is a very smart Xs and Os guy, his stint with the Hornets didn't work out but that's not surprising, it's a very bad organization.

Borrego as an assistant would be great though, but I doubt he takes that spot with us.

I agree with what you said - but I do think he takes the Assistant HC with Lakers. Live in New Orleans or live in LA? Career dependent on Zion's health - or AD's and Bron's health? Not a tough choice.

This is done done done!
Risky but exciting move to bring JJ as the HC. He could be next Steve Kerr or he can be next Steve Nash. Hoping he's more like the former and hope he brings in some an experienced coach or two with him. Would love to see Dudley and/or Rondo on the coaching staff too.

I'm good with it. But they need to give him time. He needs to be kept after Bron leaves even if we aren't doing that good. If he's all in, JJ will grow with the post Bron era and I can see him becoming a very good HC.

…if this happens…

Didn't see this coming. Hurley wasn't even on my mind. I thought he'd be a lifer with UCONN.
Don't mess with Hurley or you'll get hurt and knocked out!

JJ Reddick already fired

Just saw it as well.

Interesting...
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Hurley is using this to get a massive contract from UCONN. I just don't understand why he'd want to leave UCONN - where they'd treat him like Coach K.

If Lakers pull this off - I'd be pretty impressed by Pelinka.

Right! I'm sure the 2 Titles warrants a fat contract from UCONN. He might just be checking his worth in the NBA. I really don't think this is happening.

If there is even 10% chance of getting him - Jeanie needs to offer him what UCONN can't offer. He signed a 6 year 32m contract last year with UCONN - they may be willing to make it 6 year 50M-60M - so offer him 8 year 100M with control of the roster and get this done.
