Sources: Four-time NBA All-Star Rasheed Wallace has agreed on a deal to be an assistant coach for the Lakers under new head coach Darvin Ham. Both were teammates in Detroit and part of the 2004 title team. Memphis' Penny Hardaway hinted today Wallace may join Ham in LA.

he used to be on the Kings staff too lol

Very unlikely - but I'd do Westbrook + 1 future pick (top 5 protected) for Kyrie. Kyrie & Westbrook have to opt-in for this to happen - which they'll likely do.

Kyrie is a head-case but he fits in well with Lebron & AD and when his head is screwed on right (which could happen for a maximum of 7-8 month) - he's a top 15 player. Problem will be if you give Kyrie 4 year deal - then you're at his mercy lool

I'd love to get Mills or Joe Harris (no chance they include Seth) on the deal but will gladly trade Westbrook for Kyrie.

I just dont know why any team would want him or would want to help the Lakers by taking him off their hands. He always was a terrible fit for the Lakers and I would have to rape the Lakers in a deal if I was an opposing GM in order to include him in a deal.

Agree.

My only hope is that he has some pride and doesn't want to come back bc of much he's not liked. Super long shot obviously, but that's the only way I see him not being a Laker next season. Business/basketball wise, it's basically how you said it.

a) As a GM - you gotta help yourself first - sticking it to another team isn't gonna protect your job

b) Massive expiring contract. If you're not a contender and want to go into rebuilding - you can move your long term contracts. Or you can clear space for next summer to go after a star. Expiring contracts have value.

Doesn't mean it'll be easy or Lakers will get a deal they like. If Lakers don't like any offers - they should keep Westbrook and they can open a max slot next summer.

Ideally - I'd like them to flip Westbrook for 2-3 players on long term deals. We'll see. If Lakers want to attach future 1st rd picks - dont think it'll be difficult to trade him but imo they should only trade those if they can get something that will make them into a contender.

He'll likely re-sign with Nets but I'll gladly swap Westbrook with Kyrie.
