Westbrook is a much better player than he is showing for the Lakers. It was clear from the jump that this was a bad fit. Now he is being scapegoated when the team in general is a lottery team.

Westbrook needs to be on a team where he is the primary ball handler and has some shooters around him. He cannot be an offball player. I have no idea why the Lakers thought he would be a good addition to a team with Lebron running the offense.

He isn't good.

Any we just traded Talen Horton Tucker for Pat Beverly lol so its not like were looking for best fit right now, Pelinka is just throwing s**t together.

Like I said, LAST SEASON...Blow the entire thing up. Everyone and everything must go. Trade for first rounders and expiring contracts. Make it a 3 year rebuild instead of a 6. We sold our soul for a championship and we got it, time to regroup. Once we're 2-15 Lebron will be willing to get shipped. Send out AD before he stubs a toe. I'll start pounding the phones.

It's not Westbrook's fault this team is so bad. The number one reason is AD is not the superstar he is made out to be and lebron only plays hard about 20% of the time because he's old. They need to blow this thing up and get younger and rebuild.
Trade Lebron, let him finish out somewhere where he has a chance, get rid of AD who is a continuing health-dilemma, and give RW to somebody or anybody that will take him.
Lebron signed an extension in the off-season. He's not even eligible to be traded this season. Lakers don't control their draft picks till 2026 - it makes no sense to trade stars to tank. A good trade for Westbrook will be available sometime after Dec 15 when bad teams will decide to tank for the draft.

Pelinka is clueless though. How do you not have at least 2 decent shooters on a team with Lebron & Westbrook? Do think Ham is a solid upgrade for Vogel though.
As in he can't be traded bc of the contract or it requires his approval?
The Lakers management decisions have been absolutely atrocious since winning the title. The whole Marc Gasol / Dennis Schroder disaster, trading all those players for RW. I don't get why anyone in the world would have thought adding RW was a good idea. There's tons of people in this thread (including myself) who thought it was a terrible idea before RW even played his first game with the Lakers. I can't imagine LBJ is behind this. He has to know what kind of players he needs around him. If he had a say in this, he's equally to blame.

The team is an absolute nightmare. I think this season is already lost. You're playing for 2023-24. That's probably LBJ last great season also.

Can't be traded bc contract extension. He doesn't have no-trade clause. He can't be traded this year no matter what. To get ratings - ESPN intentionally have ppl come on Tv and say Lakers should trade Lebron right now when they know he Lebron can't be traded lol

Yeah, it's a technicality. It was signed after he may have been eligible to be traded this year, but the 6 month rule expires after the trade deadline so he can't be moved.
0-5.

He is? He lost a lot of his athleticism that's made him special for all those years. That was his game - be more athletic than the other guy. As time went on he never improved his shooting and this what you get now, an average athlete who can't shoot. He's literally one of the worst shooters in the league over the past several years.

I think the hope was that he still had at least a year or two left of playing at a high level but that's gone. It doesn't matter what role he takes on, he's just not a good player anymore. Dude has been stuffed by the rim...he's not anywhere close to what he was in OKC or even Hou.

Hence, why they are 0-5. Also, Lakers should avoid Kyrie like the plague.
