Saw a discussion if you switched Embid and Joker , and kept the rest of the rosters the same .

The consensus was Philly would be a legit contender and Denver would be meh

Jokic has won the last 2 MVPs - so he has def been given his respect. I don't get how he has been overlooked. Don't understand that narrative. He was doubted in the playoffs bc he has never been to the NBA finals. Embiid has been doubted. Giannis was doubted till he won it all. Warriors and Curry were doubted - Lebron was doubted - Kobe was doubted (do it without Shaq narrative). Everyone great player goes thru it.

Jokic would not have won a thing if the votes were from Wright, Perkins, etc. They were literally giving him disrespect up to a couple weeks ago. I heard a great historical stat this morning. 5 times in playoff history has there been a 30 pt 20 reb trip dub. Wilt did it once, Kareem once, and Jokic 3 times. And I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I am confident is saying those other two have dozens more playoff games. Kareem probably has a seasons worth of playoff games more than Jokic. Dude is a unicorn for sure.

That's why there are several voters and not just 10.

Definitely a unicorn and top 2 player in the league. I still have Giannis up there but if someone wants to make a case for Jokic at 1 - I don't have a problem. But, he needed this playoff run to prove that.

Luka getting that MVP next season.

Didn't that happen with Giannas too? He won it 2 straight years then the voters got tired of him so Jokic won it the year Giannas won the Finals. It's just fatigue. He deserved it this year but probably didn't deserve it one of those earlier ones.

Yup. Happened to Lebron and Curry too. Only player to get 3 straight MVPS is Larry Bird - which shouldn't have happened either but it was the 80s and yea - I'll leave it at that.
