The river cats are playing either at the coliseum or oracle. Reported this morning on KMAX 31 here in Sacramento.

I want to make a small (very small) point here. Right or wrong, this is the way I see it. I have called Sacramento County home since 1999.
A decade or so ago, Sacramento faced the prospect of losing the Kings. There was a big push to build a new arena for them, which I opposed. I did not like the usage of city tax dollars to fund a new arena effort. But the concerns of opponents like me was overcome. Parking revenues were redirected to new arena construction efforts. The new arena exists, although the Kings still suck.
Bottom line? If cities like Oakland want to keep professional sports franchises around, they must pony up some public money. Not only did Oakland fail to do that for both the Raiders and now the A's, they have also failed at the task of basic law enforcement to protect residents. Oakland is in real trouble at the moment. A city's job is to set the table for private investment. Setting the table involves spending public money. Oakland has failed at this. For a long time.
I'm still not a fan of spending public money on enriching the owners of professional sports teams. But, Sacramento and West Sacramento have a chance now to land a major league baseball team provided the Las Vegas deal falls apart.

If it ever comes to it, it could be some sort of joint venture between Sacramento County and Yolo County to foot the bill through some sort of tax revenues but would make it easier on the residents

The River Cats aren't moving. They may play a couple of series somewhere else to accommodate the As schedule if need be.
A lot of baseball next season in Sacramento.

Too bad that stadium is so small. MLB should look into getting a team up there in Sac.

100%
The stadium was built for the minor leagues. Should have been working on getting the A's here permanently years ago.

Sacramento can't support an MLB team. Maybe someday, but the area still doesn't have the population to do it.
