"They actually had odds that she was 3rd or 4th to be MVP, that's such a slap in the face to every WNBA player."

Lot of old school players and media hating on Clark - similar to NBA. Straight up jealousy. They know she's better and trying to stay relevant.

I admittedly didnt pay much attention to the WNBA. Over the past decade, I watched somewhere between 0 and 4 games a year I would guess. I have been really paying attention this year and have been following.

With that being said, Angel Reese is REALLY difficult to watch. Yes, she is a monster on the glass. But she is so bad offensively. I realize this is NOT the NBA, so its very different. I get that shooting percentages are generally lower in the WNBA but sheesh. Is what she is doing really ROY worthy most years?

Rebounding: A+
On ball defense: B
Help defense: B-
Off ball defense: D
Rim protection: F
Under the basket shooting: D-
Short range shooting: F
Midrange shooting: F
3 point shooting: F
Footwork: D-
Passing: F

I get that she is an elite defender. But if you put this all together, she is like a C- player to me.

it is a tough watch, but in all honesty....I think she is over hyped on one hand, and slept on the other.

What I really hate is talk like CC vs Angel is Curry vs whomever.....

Yeah, CC is kinda like the curry of that league, but there is no male to compare Angel too....no male big would be on the court allowed to take the shots Angel is with that kind of shooting percentage. They would live on the bench, the male game is too competitive. Rebounding has value, but there is a such thing as a rebound vacuum....young Tyler Herro comes to mind....good rebounds for a guard....but he was taking uncontested rebounds mostly. Chicago was at 33 rebounds per game before Angel and Cardoso, and 37 rebounds with Angel and Cardoso....both would lead last years squad. In fact you replace Kone mins with Cardoso mins and you would be at 36 last year with 37 this year. So while rebounding matters, it does not matter where it comes from since there is a finite amount of opportunities. The Sky use to have guards in the 5 and 6 rebounds per game, now guards are struggling to get 3..maybe 4 a game. The two bigs are doing their job and vacuuming up rebounds....point being uncontested rebounds do...not.....win games. Even offensive rebounds have a drawback....it normally means you have crap spacing.....there is a give and take to it. I think we could have seen more Dennis Rodmans, except for there are so few Micheal Jordans in the world, you just cant tell a guy...I don't care what you do....get us rebounds....only a few situations, and rosters can win like that.

Anyway...have said that...I do think some fans are sleeping on Angel....we got one game to see what she would look like with a CC level point guard....Chicago needs someone who can feed her the ball at the right time, and the right spots. Not force feed her, or break the flow trying to get her the ball...but someone who can bring her into the offense in the right spots.

Right now, I think comparing Angel to CC...is like comparing a starting QB to a back-up TE that can run block, but can't get open. Get that back up TE in a system that can create space for him and a QB that knows when to hit him....and he might become a 3 down player.

Angel needs some offseason development and a PG. I don't know that she will ever be a star....but she does some dirty work already, she could end up that gritty, boots in the sand type player that every team wants.

WNBA be like "she is now ranked 5th best, among rookies this year"
And she set the record for most assists in a season lol

shes amazing

heres a sports debate….is she the most successful sports rookie in any league?

I can't think of one who has accomplished more. I think you have to go back to Wayne Gretzky (2nd in league in scoring as a rookie)

Puka getting 1500 yards on 100+ receptions is also damn impressive.

WNBA history goes back to only late 90s. NFL history goes back like 100 years.

So as a rookie she broke a 30 year old single season record set by seasoned pros that probably played against zero competition

MVP

she is the most important and influential female athlete this year. GOAT status
