Cyborg may have the stand up, but I'll tell you it won't be the same (ask Sean Sherk after he fought BJ). Rhonda would easily close that distance and work her ground game, not to mention she would probably wear Cyborg down with all those hip tosses or O guruma or Ashi guruma. After getting slammed like that, technique just goes out the window, all you think about is recovery, that's why they say, if MMA was fought on the pavement everyone would be trying to learn Judo.

I think your more confident then rhonda and dana are

One thing rhonda likes to be a bully, she comes foward

She steps into the octagon will she still come forward with her weak standup against cyborg?

I doubt it

Another thing, rhonda is willing to fight gina at 145, she wont do the same for cyborg, theres a reason for that. Her whole career she has beaten up smaller women, she cuts from 160. She wont be the bigger stronger fighter on fight night.

Its a great discussion and mma needs this fight for 2014 with the jones/cormier fight getting cancelled.

it will be another "mighty mouse ppv" they moved his fight with cariaso to this event to try to plug the gap i guess. mcgregor v poiries is the co-main.

178 will do better business than 177 but both are not looking good at all now. They should have canceled a UFN card and moved all those fights to 177 & 178 to boost those main cards.

surprised that dude hasn't been shot.

If Dog catches him it will make for entertaining TV. Would love to see them call him every name in the book then hug it out at the end, get him some McDonalds and let him smoke a cig on the way to jail

As far as I know nope. Local radio played and interview clip that's supposedly a couple weeks old. I'm paraphrasing but he says I'll probably kill her one day and she says yea and I'll deserve it. I have no idea of the broader context but it was strange and a bit creepy.

That was on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani from like a year ago. It was in regards to the tat of her name on his neck but yes still creepy.
DC working on Eye Poke defense for Bones fight. Lulz

  • Ronda's standup has gotten better
  • Ronda cuts from 160? where's this "fact"?

Lol. I read that this morning. When the flyweight division first came to the UFC I was excited and now not so much. I do like watching John Dodson fight.

yeah its not hugely deep of a division right now but a couple of unknowns will grow into good fighters and a couple of 35ers will drop down and it will eventually get there. it does take time though. when the started it they had 4 guys and 2 of them dropped from 35 (mighty mouse and benavidez) it has slowly grown over time and now has guys like dodson, moraga, liniker, bagautinov, pickett. it will get there in time

you know what we gotta do, chaz...

Jones got injured defending a takedown from Overeem.

apparently, it was just bad technique on Jones' part. according to Greg Jackson, not a big size differential as Overeem is at 240 right now while Jones is at 220.

if Jones is having trouble with Overeem's takedown, DC's gonna have a field day

Tell me this, who has she really fought?? Gina Carano and Shayna Bazler are probably the toughest fighters she's faced and they're not even on the level of rhonda Rousey, so why does Rhonda have to make the weight that Cyborg wants?? Nobody ever knocked GSP for not going up in weight to fight Anderson Silva or dropping down to fight BJ at 155. GSP stayed within his realm and was a dominate Champion for years, and he fought no one else's fight but his, he made everyone come to him, and I think Rhonda is doing the same,I see no fault in that. Besides Cyborg already has said she will cut to 135, she just needs some tune up fights in Invicta.

I'd like to see Cyborg fight a real contender, like Cat Zingano, Amanda Nunes, Meisha Tate or even new comer Holly Holm, before losing to Rhonda.
