Pretty weird to have that event on a Wednesday night though. I totally missed it.

The Eddie Alvarez DQ was b******t. Their "punching behind the head" rule is weird.

knees to a downed opponent are allowed!? Definitely watching. Are head stomps / soccer kicks allowed?

But alvarez gets dq'd for punches to back of head that really werent to back of head lol
Just watched. The 2nd to last one before dude laid down was clearly to the back of the head. Guy definitely was in trouble and knew it was an out, so he turned his head so it would be an illegal strike, then played it up like he was dying. Still, that's on Eddie for playing with fire.

Its the automatic jump to dq thats the prob. 4 eye pokes and 6 nut shots often dont even get penalized

Not really. Illegal strikes that leave an opponent unable to continue end fights all the time, especially if the strike is intentional. Alvarez was warned and continued to attack the same spot. Next time be smarter.
Also thought that was a BS dq. Dude was definitely looking for an out. Alvarez had him locked down.
