Ariel Helwani reported today (Mon., Jan. 15, 2024) on The MMA Hour that UFC Saudia Arabia is expected to be rescheduled from its March 2, 2024, date to sometime in June 2024. The event currently has no main event and will be the promotion's debut in the oil-rich nation after it struck an event deal in 2023.

"The planned March 2 UFC event in Saudi Arabia is being postponed and the target is June," Helwani said. "I was told that the reason for the postponement is because they just want — the powers that be in Saudi Arabia — a, how should we put it, more entertaining fight card. A deeper fight card with bigger names on it. [They] weren't too pleased with what was being offered. So, it is being at this point moved to later in the year, June."

seemed like he got robbed.

I guess that's what happens when your interviews go off the beaten path . You get cancelled by the higher ups and lose those scorecard close fights.

The guy would start ranting about trans people, then go on a methhead tweaker rant about politics.

Watch it with the sound off, he didnt get robbed. He won the 1st and then stuck to his jab and leg kicks.

Just sucks cause we all know the UFC loved Strickland and had the announcers in the pocket.(probably to avoid another Isreal vs DDP confrontation) But unless we are saying take downs and damaging strikes no longer count... thats the only way a jab and checking legkicks could win. DDP controlled the ring, landed heavier strikes and all the take downs... sh*t wasnt even close. Stricklands last 30 seconds were the most meaningful of the fight, he didnt even seem interested in being there.

While I think he is a sh*t human being, I have a soft spot for Strick... even his postfight "I thought I won but maybe Im just a f*ckin p*ssy"... that type of self reflection without blaming refs is endearing. But he lost and it wasnt as close as some think. After the black eye, Strick did no damage and DDP opened up two cuts, controlled the cage and landed the heavy punches and multiple takedowns. If it was swapped, the wannabe fight fanboys would be calling it a domination.
