The margins were similar across all demographics listed by ShowBuzzDaily other than advertiser-unfriendly (because they have more set purchasing habits) 50+, where NXT edged out Dynamite with a 0.36% rating to a 0.34% rating. This is a massive win for AEW and TNT, both for the most obvious reasons and because the lack of overlap with NXT viewers—especially in the key demo—suggests that AEW has a different audience that hasn't been watching WWE.

Pretty crazy how fast it came about and succeed. I'm very excited for them and can't wait to see what they do. TNT has to be very happy with their investment right now

Damn. Raw and sd pull in way more. RIP AEW.

It will be interesting to see what happens over the course of the next few weeks now that the debut is over. It's a good start for AEW, but maintaining those numbers will be telling.

I'm sure if they can maintain half of those numbers TNT will be happy

It's sad looking at tv ratings. 1.4 mil. In the AE Sunday Night Heat would be embarrased by those numbers.

Its not bad considering who they are. Wcw had guys like Hogan, Flair, Sting, when they first went to tnt, they opened with a 2.5 rating. And obviously there was no streaming. Also hockey opening night and a playoffs baseball.

To be honest with all of the hype the last few months I expected the numbers to be higher.

They need some bigger names. Jericho just isnt that huge of a draw. Same with Cody, hes okay. Now if cm punk shows up those ratings are tripling lol.

If you watched wrestling in 95 you'd know why they only got a 2.5. But that's rating anyways not viewers. I wasn't criticizing AEW though all tv ratings are down because of streaming/ cable cutters.

I did. It wasn't popular then. Same like it isnt now.
Lol so many overreactions to the ratings online. It's week 1, see if they can sustain it and people are mocking WWE for NXT losing the ratings "war." They should be losing, they're like a AAA team compared to Raw, Smackdown and AEW. lol

Oh man the marks on the wrestling forums are doing just that. It's funny.

Kahn better start bringing them bags of money soon if the rumors of Punk and WWE working again are true.
