Jeez. New reports out of Saudi Arabia. Apparently Vince hasn't been paid for the last two events there and is owed millions of dollars. In retaliation, Vince pulled the feed in Saudi Arabia.

Former WWE Spanish commentator Hugo Savinovich has revealed source details behind why WWE Superstars were delayed from returning to the United States from Saudi Arabia on Thursday, which lead to the majority of them missing Friday Night SmackDown.

WWE's story was the plane that the talent were using to travel back on from the Crown Jewel event had mechanical issues, but Savinovich, who has connections with top sources in WWE revealed that Vince McMahon hasn't been paid for two events in Saudi Arabia, and the figure owed is reported to be in the millions of dollars.

McMahon reportedly retaliated by cutting off the live feed for Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. The Crown Prince was so irate by this decision he had WWE Superstars taken off the Altlas Air flight just before it was due to depart. There were rumors yesterday that something else other than mechanical issues but nothing concrete could be confirmed until now.

Savinovich noted that mechanical issues were just a cover and McMahon could have paid to charter another flight right away to get talent home in time for SmackDown in Buffalo. The issues were all to do with the Saudi Crown Prince.

So we're they all just held hostage?

This is the type of s**t why people were so against them going over there in the first place. It's not worth the risk and I'm glad it kinda blew up in Vince's face.

Same. Should have never been over in that area to begin with AND if I'm a WWE guy, I'd be boycotting and refusing to ever go there again. Being held hostage and risking your safety so Vince can make a buck.
John Pollock of Post Wrestling reports that after it became clear that WWE main roster talent wouldn't be making it back to North America in time for WWE Friday Night Smackdown, a flight was chartered at the last minute to bring in NXT talent from Florida. Apart from having to restructure the show due to all the talent missing, the NXT wrestlers didn't land in Buffalo until approximately 755 PM ET, just five minutes before Smackdown went on the air. WWE had to secure a police escort to bring the wrestlers to the arena and the word backstage was that Shayna Baszler barely made it to the arena in time for her appearance in the third segment.

And somehow it was still their best show of the year. That's so intense.

Sometimes unscripted is the best way to go. Unless you are WcW when they were falling apart.

I mean, they have to call Cole up now, right?

Dave Meltzer revealed on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE had not received any payments for the shows as of September 30, but then during Crown Jewel the company received an unspecified and mysterious $60 million dollar payment.

Meltzer said the situation is really bad and is not sure how WWE goes forward with this. Talent reportedly told McMahon they were never going back to Saudi Arabia and others can't wait to leave the company.

Meltzer noted that the Crown Jewel PPV feed was on a 40-minute delay, thus adding to the speculation McMahon pulled the plug on the live feed and something went down during the Crown Jewel event.

Talent are reported to have felt like "hostages" and "pawns" in a game even though they were allowed to leave in the end. There were military police to escort them off the plane and although they had people working on the plane, nobody was buying the mechanical fault story.

Meltzer's co-host Bryan Alverez also brought up McMahon leaving Saudi before all the problems occurred, there has been some speculation that McMahon left knowing what was coming but other sources say he wouldn't have left if he knew the gravity of the situation.

Meltzer also added that Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were called into Friday's SmackDown due to the lack of talent, Lesnar was originally set to quit SmackDown next week but plans were pulled forward.

Unreal. f**k Vince for this.
Dave Meltzer is reporting, so I'll take this with a grain of salt for now.

Harper posted similar too. Something definitely happened over there and its gonna be interesting to see what the ramifications are. I think Vince lost a lot of trust from his people on this.

I don't want the call up. Things seem to be too inconsistent with how they treat these guys when they go to Raw or Smackdown. Black has been completely mishandled and Ricochet is just kinda there to cool s**t, nothing more. Id rather see him and the rest of the UE stay on NXT until Raw and Smackdown have better writers.

I hope it blows up in Vince's face for taking what is in a sense blood money after what they've done to our country on 9/11, plus that poor WaPo journalist. I would never step foot in Saudi Arabia.
