And this is why no one was worried about the ratings when AEW premiered...
-- The viewership numbers are in for last night's AEW Dynamite and NXT shows and the battle was the closest it's been in the six weeks the two shows have gone head-to-head. Dynamite was up to 822,000 viewers with a 0.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic - both increases from last week. NXT meanwhile lept up to 813,000 viewers with a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demographic - a significant uptick from last week.

NXT likely up due to them being included in SS and their invasions on RAW and SD. A lot of fans don't realize NXT is a superior show than both RAW and SD, hopefully post SS NXT can maintain the viewership.

AEW is casually just starting. NXT is throwing the desperation attack having the bullet club captains face off .
VM will most likely screw that up as well in the end.

Hopefully HHH has a lot of say but with Fox being a big contract I'm sure smackdown will win big

Desperation attack? They're hinting at them finally coming together. Something that was inevitable when the invasion angle began.
AEW causally starting is a bit miworded don't ya think? Their whole premise is reminding the viewer they're not WWE by constantly mentioning WWE. Their matches are solid but they all have the same premise. Super kicks and suicide dives for everyone! They're just spot fests and that's gonna bore people too after awhile. You can't have every match be so similar to the other matches on the card.

From me or him? I'm bias towards NXT for sure and towards WWE more as well. Like I wrote in my edited post, AEW has been far from perfect, WWE's top two shows have been awful but if we're finally seeing Finn and AJ join then that's awesome. I've been waiting for that to happen ever since AJ came to WWE.Originally posted by VaBeachNiner:Originally posted by JustinMT:Originally posted by TonyStarks:Originally posted by evil:Originally posted by JustinMT:And this is why no one was worried about the ratings when AEW premiered...

We all have been waiting for The Club to come together since they arrived in WWE.
AEW definitely delivers a lot of spot fests and hardcore matches, but (with bias) they have proven to be exciting and entertaining within those confines. We have also seen good wrestling matches (Cody VS Dustin, Omega VS Pac, Omega VS Jericho, Pac VS Hangman, Cody VS Darby Allin) from them.
I think the AEW is more akin to ECW from an in ring standpoint. What they are doing is not going to draw in all of the WWE fan base as it is not for everyone. But it is far better than RAW/SD which are very formulaic in how most matches are played out. NXT does not adhere to that formulaic storytelling which is a huge reason why the product delivers a better show than the main roster.
AEW needs to add more talent that is less dependent on "spotiness" in ring. They need more Gargano/Cole/Cesaro/Styles types, unfortunately WWE has so much talent under contract and the indies have become a little talent barren with AEW and NXT soaking up all the guys with real potential. It is going to take time for them to be a little less dependent on spot fests.
