The 49ers didn't draft a pass-rusher, which inspires the question: Could they bring back their most effective pass-rusher from 2017? In March, general manager John Lynch acknowledged Elvis Dumervil could return after the 49ers didn't pick up the option on the second year of his contract. "Although Elvis isn't in our current plans," Lynch said in a statement, "we would never close the door on a potential return in the future." Last year, Dumervil, 34, had 6.5 sacks on a team that didn't have another player manage more than three sacks. The 49ers had the sixth-fewest sacks (30) in the NFL and don't have a player on their current roster with more than 10 career sacks.
