Beathard threw two touchdowns in his first start of the year, but was picked off twice and hit eight times in the 29-27 loss to the Chargers. Despite the results, Beathard's teammates were impressed with his toughness. "He ain't no rooty poo... ain't nothing sweet about C.J.," Reuben Foster said in the locker room after the game.
