The San Francisco 49ers have signed defensive lineman Kapron Lewis-Moore to a reserve/future contract, the team announced on Friday.
The Baltimore Ravens made Lewis-Moore a sixth-round draft pick out of Notre Dame in 2013. His only playing time during his NFL career came in 2015 when he registered five tackles through five game appearances with the Ravens.
The Chicago Bears signed Lewis-Moore on January 6, 2017, and waived him on August 29, 2017. The Ravens signed Lewis-Moore to their practice squad on October 10, 2017.
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Lewis-Moore on February 6, 2018. He landed on injured reserve on July 31, 2018, and Jacksonville released him on August 9, 2018.
Lewis-Moore registered 180 combined tackles, 12 sacks, 22 tackles for a loss, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries through 45 games and 42 starts for the Fighting Irish.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is widely expected to land a contract extension worth north of $50 million per year. That seems inevitable, given the current quarterback market—unless Purdy opts to give the team a significant hometown discount.
