Apparently, San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback C.J. Beathard is garnering some interest in the potential trade market, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 49ers made Beathard a third-round selection out of Iowa in 2017. He has completed 57.3 percent of his passes for 2,682 yards with 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions through his first two NFL seasons (no snaps this season).

Beathard, 25, is the third quarterback on the depth chart and has been inactive for each game this season.

General manager John Lynch admitted after the 53-player roster cut-down that the 49ers had several conversations with other teams about their quarterbacks but were unwilling to deviate from their trade demands.

"In the last week, there was a lot of interest, a lot of conversations," Lynch said on August 31. "That position to us is one that you just set a price on, and you stay firm on it. While we had discussions, we never deviated from what that price was for us, and nobody ever met it, so we were happy to carry the three [into the regular season]."

Beathard appeared in three preseason games this year. He completed 24-of-37 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns, an interception, and a passer rating of 94.4 in those games.

Update: Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area provided some information on what other teams might be offering for Beathard.
