The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a walk-through on Thursday and held Friday's practice, the 11th of training camp, on the Levi's Stadium field. The team will host the Arizona Cardinals there on September 13.

Below are some practice notes from various media sources.

First, some participation updates.

Did not practice due to recent injuries:

Kittle's injury is not believed to be serious. Juszczyk is week-to-week while Nelson is expected to miss a month, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Practiced:

  • S Marcell Harris (ankle)
  • CB Richard Sherman (foot)

Shanahan explained that Fred Warner had a light practice as the 49ers look to protect the talented young linebacker from pushing himself too hard.

"Dominant drive running the football to open practice from the offense, capped by a Raheem Mostert TD," wrote David Lombardi. (The Athletic)

"Arik Armstead, Kevin Givens and Kentavius Street have been stellar," wrote Jake Hutchinson. (KNBR)

Tight ends Jordan Reed, Charlie Woerner, and Chase Harrell each hauled in passes during 11-on-11 move-the-ball periods. Reed caught a five-yard score from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. (NBC Sports Bay Area)

"DL Kerry Hyder was constantly in the backfield in practice today. I'd be surprised if he doesn't make the team," wrote Matt Maiocco. (NBC Sports Bay Area)

DL Solomon Thomas continues to look good. He had two would-be sacks against the first-team offense. (NBC Sports Bay Area)

"Rookie 49ers WR Jauan Jennings had a [rough] practice. He had a dropped third-down pass then couldn't hold onto a (QB) Nick Mullens pass that (S) Jared Mayden intercepted," wrote Maiocco. (NBC Sports Bay Area)

Garoppolo and center Daniel Brunskill remained on the field after practice to get some extra snapping work in. "Was an issue when Brunskill's snap sailed over JG's head. Safety," wrote Lombardi. (The Athletic)

"Sideline erupted late with RB JaMycal Hasty's juke of a safety late in the session," wrote Chris Biderman. (Sacramento Bee)

Jason Verrett continues to make his case in the cornerback competition. He had two physical pass break-ups that "fired up" the 49ers defense at the end of practice. (The Athletic)

"Jordan Reed was active offensively; he looks ready. Dante Pettis made a very nice intermediate catch — right where I think his happy zone will be in this offense (beyond the short range stuff)," wrote Lombardi. (The Athletic)

"At one point today, the 49ers offense didn't convert a third down. Shanahan wanted more work for them, so he called a personal foul on Robert Saleh for being on the field. Automatic first down," wrote Lombardi. (The Athletic)

Wide receiver Tavon Austin had a good practice, hauling in five receptions for 58 yards. He had a nearly 40-yard touchdown from C.J. Beathard. (NBC Sports Bay Area)
