San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw has been nominated for his first Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week Award. The nomination comes after the Niners' 23-20 Week 12 road win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Kinlaw finished the game with two tackles, hauled in an interception from a Jared Goff pass, and returned it for a 27-yard touchdown.
The other award nominees are running backs Antonio Gibson of the Washington Football Team and James Robinson of the Jacksonville Jaguars, safety Jeremy Chinn of the Carolina Panthers, and wide receiver Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings.
Kinlaw played college football at South Carolina, and the 49ers made him the No. 14 overall draft pick in April. He has registered 24 tackles, one tackle for a loss, 1.5 sacks, four quarterback hits, four passes defended, an interception, and a touchdown through 11 games and nine starts this season.
