The San Francisco 49ers have placed guard Tom Compton on injured reserve. He suffered a concussion leading to the team's Week 12 contest against the Los Angeles Rams and has been in the protocol since.
The team announced that defensive lineman Alex Barrett has been promoted from the practice squad and signed to the active roster. The move comes after defensive tackle D.J. Jones was listed as "doubtful" to play on Sunday against Washington due to an ankle injury and defensive tackle Kevin Givens has been ruled "out."
Givens was excused this week for his daughter's birth, and will not be able to clear COVID-19 protocols in time for the game.
The 49ers also announced the following roster moves.
Cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun has been promoted to the active roster from the practice squad.
Defensive lineman Darrion Daniels and offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley have been activated/flexed from the practice squad for Sunday's game.
