Today, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters after the team's joint practice with the Los Angeles Chargers in Costa Mesa. He provided a few notable injury updates. The first was about the team's veteran Pro Bowl tackle, Trent Williams, who limped off the practice field on Monday after getting clipped along his leg. He has not practiced since and is getting the week off.
"Trent, he was going to go [today]," Shanahan told reporters. "He had a little swelling in his knee, so we drained it out. He's going to take this week off, and hopefully, he'll be ready for the [Raiders] week."
Shanahan added that the 49ers don't have any long-term concerns when it comes to Williams. However, the same may not be true for wide receiver Jalen Hurd, who did not play against the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend and continues to miss practices.
"As you guys know, he's been in and out through most of this, and he's had some knee soreness," Shanahan said. "He's got some knee tendinitis, so instead of going one day [on] and having to take three off, we made the decision a couple of days ago to shut him down for the week, make sure he gets at least seven days off. I think it was five days before that, so it's going to be a little over 10 days.
"Hopefully, when we go [Raiders] week, that will be the right answer and help him be a little bit better, and hopefully he can come out then."
Shanahan added that cornerback Emmanuel Moseley tweaked his hamstring and is expected to miss a week.
