According to his agent, Brett Tessler, San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert is recovering well from the knee surgery he underwent in October.

Mostert's injury occurred during Week 1 of the 2021 season. The initial prognosis had the running back missing about eight weeks, providing hope that he would return that season. However, Mostert later announced that he opted for surgery, ending his 2021 campaign.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Mostert underwent tests this week with Dr. Daniel Cooper, a sports medicine physician in Texas. Cooper says the running back is fully recovering and will be ready to play during the 2022 season.

"Dr. Cooper said that in six years of doing this procedure on NFL players, this is the best recovery he's seen and there's no reason to believe Raheem won't be fully healthy and ready to go," Tessler said via Schefter.

Mostert is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next week. The 2022 season will be Mostert's eighth in the NFL. The 49ers signed the running back on November 28, 2016, and he has since amassed 1,610 rushing yards, 361 receiving yards, 11 rushing touchdowns, and three receiving touchdowns through 46 games and nine starts with the Bay Area squad.

Update: Mostert reacted to the report, saying, "Still working!"
