The Miami Dolphins are signing former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Trent Sherfield to a one-year deal, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. The unrestricted free agent reunites with head coach Mike McDaniel.

The Arizona Cardinals signed Sherfield (6-1, 219) as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt in 2018. He registered nine receptions for 87 yards with a touchdown through 17 game appearances with the 49ers last season.
Sherfield, 26, has caught 37 passes for 427 yards with two touchdowns in 61 game appearances (five starts) through his four NFL seasons with the Cardinals and 49ers.
Sherfield joins former 49ers running back Raheem Mostert, who also signed with Miami.
