For only the fourth time this season, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan stepped up to the podium after a game and didn't have any injuries to report. Running back Jordan Mason and cornerback Charvarius Ward appeared to sustain injuries against the Washington Commanders. However, the coach didn't name them in the post-game injury report, indicating that the team was not concerned about either.

Both players returned to the game, with Mason playing 16 more snaps on special teams after the scare on the opening kickoff and Ward returning in the fourth quarter after experiencing some nausea and being examined for a head injury.

On Monday, two days after the game, Shanahan spoke with reporters via a conference call, providing injury updates. One of the updates was that there were no further updates from the game itself, which is good news for the 49ers.

"No injuries from the game," Shanahan said. "Everybody checked out good today."

The coach did offer up some other injury updates, though.

Jordan Mason

Mason entered the game after dealing with a hamstring injury sustained during practice last week. He emerged from the game in good health.

"I think he's doing great," Shanahan said. "He was in here the last two days, so he had no setbacks from the game. His knee was just a scare. He's actually sick today, so we let him out today for being sick, but his hamstring ended up being good."

Deebo Samuel

Shanahan says Deebo Samuel is making "real good progress." The wide receiver sustained MCL and ankle sprains against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on December 11.

"Still working his way back," Shanahan said.

The coach added, "We'll see how it goes in these next two days with rehab. I think there's a chance (for a return to practice) later in the week. We'll see, though."

Kerry Hyder

The 49ers expect to get defensive end Kerry Hyder back at practice this week. He suffered an ankle sprain on December 11 against the Buccaneers.

Jimmy Garoppolo

As expected, Jimmy Garoppolo got his cast removed. However, the coach didn't have any further updates on the quarterback's recovery from the broken foot he sustained on December 4.

Elijah Mitchell

Running back Elijah Mitchel is "making real good progress."

"He's getting much closer to returning, too," Shanahan said.

The coach noted that there is a chance Mitchell's practice window could be opened as early as this Friday. The running back remains on the injured reserve list after sustaining his second MCL sprain of the season.

"He's healing up," Shanahan added. "He's had no setbacks. He's doing well, so we'll see if he's available next week for us."

Javon Kinlaw

Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw emerged from Saturday's game in good health.

"He checked out great yesterday and today," Shanahan shared. "I think he ended up getting 16 total plays ... close to that. But it was a successful game, and even more successful since he looked good today."
