The San Francisco 49ers return to the postseason for the fourth time in five seasons, including the third consecutive season, as they host the Green Bay Packers at Levi's Stadium in the NFC Divisional Round. The 49ers, who earned the NFC's number one overall seed, lead the postseason series against the Packers 5-4 and look to earn their fifth consecutive postseason victory against the team.

The 49ers are coming off a 21-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the regular season finale. QB Sam Darnold completed 16 of his 26 passing attempts for 189 yards, including a five-yard touchdown pass to WR Ronnie Bell and a one-yard rushing touchdown of his own. RB Elijah Mitchell added 14 carries for 52 yards and a one-yard touchdown on the ground. WR Chris Conley led all receivers with three receptions for 69 yards.

Defensively, the 49ers held the Rams to 258 total yards of offense and sacked Rams QB Carson Wentz twice. LB Oren Burks registered the second sack of his career, while DL Robert Beal Jr. earned his first career sack. S Tayler Hawkins registered four tackles and earned the first interception of his career, and LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles led the unit with 10 tackles.
