San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall appears to be making remarkable progress. According to team broadcaster Tim Ryan, the rookie was back at the team's facility on Monday, working out in the weight room just days after being shot in the chest during an attempted robbery.
"I won't get into the personal details; he understands a higher power was at work," Ryan said, as reported by Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group.
49ers radio analyst Tim Ryans says on KNBR thar Ricky Pearsall was at team facility and in weight room yesterday, told him and others how Saturday's shooting went down. Tim: "I won't get into the personal details, he understands a higher power was at work"
Pearsall was fortunate to escape the incident without sustaining more severe injuries. He spent Saturday night at San Francisco General Hospital and was released the following day.
"I already know this: his street cred has gone up tremendously around here," Ryan added, according to a fan report on X (formerly Twitter).
Reports indicate that the suspect, a 17-year-old male from Tracy, California, was apprehended after being shot during the altercation. He was also treated at San Francisco General Hospital.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Union Square, a commercial area in San Francisco. Just hours before the shooting, Pearsall had been signing autographs at an event at the Cow Palace in Daly City.
