The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the New York Jets on Monday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Running back Christian McCaffrey remains limited as he works his way back from the calf strain that sidelined him for most of training camp and the entire preseason. Notably, McCaffrey is officially listed with a calf/Achilles injury. This isn't a new concern—it's simply a reflection of teams now having to provide more detailed injury reports with the regular season underway.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings, running back Isaac Guerendo, and guard Aaron Banks were also limited in practice.

Meanwhile, the 49ers are continuing to ease safety Talanoa Hufanga back into action as he recovers from the ACL injury he sustained in November 2023.

"Huf has got a possibility this week," head coach Kyle Shanahan stated before practice.

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and linebacker Dee Winters remain out of practice. Both players were injured during San Francisco's preseason finale against the Las Vegas Raiders, with Gross-Matos dealing with a knee injury and Winters sidelined by an ankle injury.

Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, less than a week after being shot in the chest, was at practice supporting his teammates. He has been placed on the non-football injury (NFI) list, making him ineligible to play in the 49ers' first four games.

Shanahan mentioned that Pearsall will likely begin his rehab work in "a week or so."

Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Jets, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
