Davante Adams has dominated headlines this week after expressing his desire to leave the Las Vegas Raiders. Several teams have shown interest, and trade talks are expected to intensify next week.
The New York Jets are considered the frontrunner to land the three-time All-Pro receiver, potentially reuniting him with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, on Thursday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport linked the San Francisco 49ers to Adams, naming the Bay Area team among those that "either have inquired about the six-time Pro Bowler or are places Adams would be happy landing."
On Friday morning, 49ers general manager John Lynch, in his regular appearance on Bay Area radio station KNBR, addressed the team's potential interest in Adams.
"We like our group, and Davante is a hell of a player," Lynch said. "One thing we've shown is that we're always looking. We're never afraid to look and see what's out there. We're never afraid to pull the trigger. But I think, coming in this year, we feel like our roster is in a pretty good spot.
"We have endured some injuries, but we'll never say never. It's got to work. It's got to work for both sides, but it's got to work for us. And I won't comment on any specific player, but right now, we like where our roster's at."
Adams has been one of the most productive receivers in the NFL over his 11 seasons, hauling in 890 receptions for 10,990 yards and 96 touchdowns in 153 games (146 starts). He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in five of the last six seasons.
