The San Francisco 49ers are hosting the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Star running back Christian McCaffrey remains sidelined due to Achilles tendinitis, though there is optimism he may return in the coming weeks.
The 49ers are also without linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and wide receivers Chris Conley and Jacob Cowing. Flannigan-Fowles is dealing with a calf injury, while Conley is recovering from an oblique issue, and Cowing is working through a shoulder injury.
Additionally, the team placed defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos on injured reserve Saturday due to a lingering knee injury. In a corresponding move, the 49ers activated defensive tackle Kalia Davis from injured reserve.
Below are the latest in-game injury updates for the 49ers.
S Talanoa Hufanga (wrist, out)
Talanoa Hufanga left the game in the second quarter to have his right hand examined by the training and medical staff on the sideline. Later, he left the field for the 49ers locker room. The team first announced that Hufanga was questionable to return due to a wrist injury and was eventually ruled out.
K Jake Moody (ankle, out)
Following the blocked Cardinals field goal returned for a touchdown, kicker Jake Moody remained down after tackling the returner on the second-quarter kickoff, clutching his kicking leg. He limped off the field and was later carted to the locker room for further evaluation.
The 49ers announced that Moody is questionable to return due to a right ankle injury. Punter Mitch Wishnowsky took over the field goal kicking duties with fullback Kyle Juszczyk acting as the holder.
Update: The 49ers announced that Moody has been ruled out.
