49ers vs. Chiefs injury report: Jordan Mason, Deebo Samuel limited; Ricky Pearsall ramping up

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 7 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall practiced for the second time since being shot in the chest on August 31. While it seems unlikely he'll be activated from the non-football injury (NFI) list ahead of Sunday's game against the Chiefs, his return to the practice field has provided an emotional boost for the team.

Running back Jordan Mason, who suffered an AC joint sprain in last week's win over the Seattle Seahawks, was a limited practice participant on Wednesday. However, his inclusion in Monday's and Wednesday's practices bodes well for his chances of being available this weekend.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel is managing a wrist injury, while safety Malik Mustapha is dealing with an ankle issue. Both players were limited on Wednesday.

Neither kicker—Jake Moody (ankle) nor Matthew Wright (shoulder, back)—practiced on Wednesday. As a precaution, the 49ers recently signed kicker Anders Carlson to the practice squad.

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Chiefs, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
