Jauan Jennings has not practiced this week, casting doubt on his availability for Sunday's highly anticipated Super Bowl LVIII rematch between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. Jennings is dealing with a hip injury, and head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged that the wide receiver could miss the Week 7 game.

"He's in jeopardy of [missing the game]," Shanahan said Thursday afternoon during an interview on Bay Area radio station KNBR. "I'm hoping that he can turn around here and have a good day tomorrow and feel better, but definitely, right now, it's no guarantee."

On a positive note, Shanahan expressed more optimism about running back Jordan Mason's chances of playing against the Chiefs. Mason has practiced this week but has been limited in his participation after suffering an AC joint sprain against the Seattle Seahawks last week.

Mason has been wearing a blue no-contact jersey in practice to prevent any contact with teammates.

"He's doing good," Shanahan said of Mason. "We've stayed off him all week, just so we [don't] hurt him or make it any worse. Put him in a blue jersey so nobody hits him too hard. He's doing good. He's had something like this before, so I think he'll be good by Sunday."

The 49ers and Chiefs are set to kick off at Levi's Stadium on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PT.
