The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly signed cornerback Deommodore Lenoir to a five-year, $92 million contract. Previously set to become a free agent next year, Lenoir is now committed to the 49ers for the foreseeable future.

His $18.4 million per year average ranks 12th among NFL cornerbacks. Of course, we'll have to wait to see how the deal is structured to determine the team's future salary-cap impact.

The 49ers drafted Lenoir (5-10, 200) out of Oregon in the fifth round (No. 172 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. In 2024, Lenoir has accumulated 53 tackles, including one for a loss, six passes defensed, and two interceptions across nine starts, while playing 99 percent of the team's defensive snaps, according to Pro Football Reference.

Lenoir, 25, has demonstrated impressive versatility during his time with the 49ers. Last season, he played both outside and in the slot. Although his snaps at nickel increased toward the end of the season and into the playoffs, he primarily lined up outside during Super Bowl 58, with just two of his 78 defensive snaps in the slot.

This season, Lenoir has held opposing quarterbacks to a passer rating of just 65.0 when targeted and played 337 of his 549 defensive snaps in the slot, according to Pro Football Focus.

Lenoir has recorded 233 tackles, including nine for a loss, two quarterback hits, one sack, 23 passes defensed, and six interceptions over his four NFL seasons (56 game appearances, 41 starts).
