San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed reporters during a Monday conference call, a day after the team's dominant 38-13 victory over the Chicago Bears. He shared several injury updates from the Week 14 matchup.

The 49ers face a short week of preparation as they gear up to host the Los Angeles Rams at Levi's Stadium on Thursday night.

In-game injuries

Running back Isaac Guerendo suffered a foot sprain late in the fourth quarter against the Bears with just over six minutes remaining in the game. The team will monitor Guerendo's progress in the coming days.

"We'll evaluate him over the next few days, see if he's got a shot [for Thursday]," Shanahan said.

The coach noted that Guerendo would not have been able to practice on Monday had there been a session.

"We'll see if he can go on Thursday, but definitely can't go today," Shanahan added. "It's a quick turnaround, so we've got to evaluate him hard each day. I'll be surprised if he does much tomorrow. But hopefully, Thursday will be enough time for him."

Offensive lineman Ben Bartch sustained a high-ankle sprain and is likely headed to injured reserve later this week. The injury occurred during the team's second offensive drive, and Bartch had to be carted from the sideline to the locker room for evaluation.

Linebacker Dee Winters and safety Malik Mustapha are considered day-to-day. Winters is nursing an ankle injury, while Mustapha is dealing with chest and shoulder injuries.

Dre Greenlaw update

Shanahan previously indicated that linebacker Dre Greenlaw could make his 2024 season debut on Thursday night against the Rams. While that remains a possibility, his status is still uncertain.

"There's a chance [he'll play]," Shanahan shared. "We'll see. I haven't talked to him yet, so we'll see when he gets in here tomorrow, how he's feeling, how practice goes Tuesday and Wednesday, and we'll make our decision then."

Other injury updates

Shanahan provided several updates on players who entered Week 14 with injuries.

Defensive end Nick Bosa and tackle Trent Williams each missed their third consecutive game. Bosa continues to recover from hip and oblique injuries, while Williams is still working his way back from an ankle issue.

"Nick Bosa, still in the same situation," Shanahan said. "We'll evaluate him as this week goes. Trent, no different."

There was some good news, though. Shanahan confirmed that left guard Aaron Banks has cleared concussion protocol and is expected to play on Thursday night, which comes as a relief following Bartch's injury.

Linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles remains day-to-day with a knee injury.

No issues for Brock Purdy

Quarterback Brock Purdy briefly left Sunday's game after taking a hard hit from a Bears defender but returned after missing just one play. Shanahan confirmed that Purdy emerged from the game without any lingering problems.

"No problem at all," Shanahan said. "He talked that way, the play after it, he seemed fine, but you never know until the next day. But the trainers talking to him and stuff, he felt good, and no lingering issues from that play."
