The 49ers' starting running back Sunday, one of the unknown soldiers in the win over the Falcons, has, in his NFL career, been in Washington, Kansas City, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Chicago, San Diego, Cleveland, and now Santa Clara. During pregame warm-ups Sunday, running backs coach Tom Rathman told Draughn, "Oh, you're starting, by the way." "I was like, 'OK, let's go,'" said Draughn (pronounced drone), who had never started a game. Draughn, 27, rushed for 58 yards on 16 carries, including a 30-yard ramble, and caught four passes for 38 yards. The previous Sunday, Draughn was on his couch in Cleveland, eating Chipotle and watching the 49ers (and other teams) with his wife Shonda and their kids, Kamden (1) and London (4). About 6:30 that night, Draughn's agent called to tell him he'd been signed by the 49ers. While knocking around football, Draughn had amassed 75 carries for 264 yards, and caught 26 passes for 159 yards. "I really haven't played offense in a while," Draughn said.
